Aha, Omaha, you say? Yes, Omaha. The land where you thought there was merely endless cornfields, the College World Series, and Cornhusker football (now in the Big Ten, and broadcast from Lincoln, might we add!). No, we say! Our antennae up here in Space Central have detected one Brent Crampton, a truly different and free life form residing in these parts. Not only has Brent been dropping amazing music over the past several years at his landmark “Loom” events, but he’s been breaking major musical, social, and racial barriers in the process. That’s quite a thing in the sleepy corn fields of the Midwest to accomplish, and that’s why we had him on as our first guest for Chicago House FM’s newest program, “Spacious.” This mix is sure to displease the hyperactive, but soothe the mood of the more patient amongst us. Deep, provocative, thoughtful, and tight…this is one of the better joints we’ve heard in a while, and that’s why Omaha keeps coming out to soak up the new sounds and tolerant mood. Do not sleep on Mr. Crampton, Space Racers. This cat is truer than true.
